Description
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Day and evening coverage with weeknight call requirement. Flexibility to stay beyond scheduled shift to complete daily procedures.
Highlights:
- Perform moderate sedation during GI and pulmonary procedures including ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care across all levels including PACU Phase I and Phase II recovery
- RN-driven sedation assessment using Ramsay Sedation Scale to manage patients within targeted ranges
- Work within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic medical center recognized as a leading teaching institution
- Epic EMR system utilized; 32 hours of orientation provided
- Daily census of 20-25 patients across 4 procedure rooms with 1:1 patient ratios
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Wisconsin or compact state license
- Current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications required; CGRN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in specialty within the last 3 years
- Level 1 Trauma Center or similar academic hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Demonstrated competency in administering and monitoring conscious sedation, airway management, and recovery of sedated patients
- Experience with GI and pulmonary procedures including managing patients under general anesthesia and moderate sedation
- Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply; 100% accuracy required on lethal rhythms and third-degree heart blocks)
- Must be located 50 miles or more from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
