Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Registered Nurse – Alaska

Start Date: August 4, 2026

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; 13-week assignment; Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per month); 3:1 patient ratio

Highlights:

• High-acuity progressive care unit with 19 beds serving step-down patients from ICU
• Utilize EPIC EMR system with advanced monitoring equipment including bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, BiPap, heated high-flow oxygen, and chest tubes
• Manage complex patient populations including ventilator-dependent, tracheostomy, titratable drip therapy, and CIWA protocol patients
• Collaborative team environment with experienced charge nurses and dedicated unit staff
• Opportunity to work with diverse case mix including cardiac, surgical, medical, and critical care patients
• May float to cardiac surgery IMC, medical-telemetry, medical-surgical, or orthopedic-neuro units

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN license (permanent license required at time of submission; temporary licenses not accepted)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Minimum 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience required
• Experience with titratable drips (dopamine, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, cardene, ketamine, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone) strongly preferred
• Experience with tracheostomy patients, continuous BiPap, and long-term ventilator support preferred
• Background clearance through Alaska RN fingerprinting during onboarding
