Description
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Patient ratio of 3:1.

- Dual-unit assignment in IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units caring for oncology, cardiac, thoracic surgery, and stepdown patients
- Epic electronic medical record system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Specialized patient population including thoracic procedures (esophagectomies, lobectomies, wedge resections), cardiac surgery stepdown, and hospitalist patients
- Opportunity to work with advanced care modalities including ventilator management, transplant patients, and post-surgical thoracic care
- Dynamic team environment focused on innovation, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care delivery
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settings
- Ventilator and transplant experience required
- ICU or IMC and surgical post-operative experience required
- Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
- Thoracic experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, chest tube care, and ventilator management
- Experience with central lines, PICC lines, blood product administration, heparin and insulin protocols
- Must be located 50+ miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
