Description
Start Date: August 31, 2026 or September 14, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, Day or Night rotation, Sunday through Saturday with weekend rotation and some holidays based on operational needs
Highlights:
- Fast-paced 25-bed neuroscience specialty inpatient unit within a Magnet-designated facility
- Diverse case mix including post-neurosurgery patients (spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy), stroke care, epilepsy management, and complex neurological conditions (multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries)
- Work alongside an interdisciplinary team at a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program with the ability to treat the most complex cases in the state
- Epic charting system with telemetry monitoring on the unit
- 4:1 patient ratio across all shifts with 24 hours of orientation
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry required
- Epic charting system experience required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms identification)
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Skills required include telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, central line and PICC management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, wound care, IV therapy, and more
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
