Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 4x10 Days (either 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM or 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 60 guaranteed hours per 2-week period, weekend coverage required
Highlights:
- 13-week assignment at a 407-bed acute care Magnet-designated facility with Level II Trauma certification
- 18 operating rooms supporting diverse case mix including orthopedic, neurological, vascular, bariatric, gynecological, ENT, urology, and trauma procedures
- Advanced surgical technology including Da Vinci Xi Robot, Mazor Robotic Spine System, and Stealth navigation
- Epic EMR charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including lift teams, pharmacy, and interpretation services
- Daily census of 40 patients across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
- Limited call required for coverage of call-offs only; may float to like units within scope as needed
Requirements:
- Active Alaska RN license required (pending licenses accepted for submission but must be in hand for final offer; processing takes 10-12 weeks)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
- Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR strongly preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficiency in scrubbing general, orthopedic, neurological, gynecological, urological, ENT, vascular, and trauma surgical procedures
- Experience with laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
