Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715), 36 or 48-hour contracts available, contract lengths from 13-26 weeks

Highlights:

• Work with a diverse cardiac patient population including post-surgical cardiac and thoracic patients
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 44-bed progressive care telemetry unit
• EPIC charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support services
• 24-hour orientation program with skills validation and EKG competency testing
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Float to other units as needed; holiday coverage required

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, or Step-down experience strongly preferred
• Experience with cardiac drip management, telemetry interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• First-time travelers considered with appropriate cardiac experience
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Clinical Experience:

• Patient diagnoses include: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease, and post-procedural cardiac patients
• Procedures: Post-CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, Mitral Clip, Watchman procedures, carotid endarterectomy, vascular surgeries, and post-catheterization care
• Equipment experience: Arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR bands, chest tubes, and epicardial pacing wires
• Skills include sheath management and removal, central line care, cardiac drip titration, and wound care

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off allowed (must be pre-approved, no holidays)
• Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays

• Pre-start online modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, non-billable)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub pants with white top
