Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery / LDRP Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, 13-week contract. 8 weekend shifts required per contract. Call may be required if low census.

Highlights:

  • Low-risk LDRP unit with 15 rooms/17 beds, providing full-spectrum maternal and neonatal care
  • Dual-role position requiring both Labor & Delivery and Couplet Care experience; RNs will manage labor patients or couplets, circulate for C-sections, and recover PACU patients
  • Target ratios: L&D 1:1-2, Couplet Care 1:3 (may fluctuate based on unit needs)

  • Approximately 80 births per month; Baby-Friendly protocols in place
  • EPIC charting system with comprehensive orientation (24 hours including hospital orientation week plus two 12-hour unit shifts)
  • Scrubs provided; first-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in both Labor & Delivery and either LDRP or Couplet Care
  • Required Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), NRP, and STABLE
  • NC or Compact RN license (pending acceptable at submission)
  • Comprehensive skill set including antepartum care, fetal monitoring (external and internal), IV therapy/phlebotomy, medication administration (magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips), labor and delivery management, neonatal care in delivery room, newborn care, pain management, postpartum care, and surgical procedures
  • Experience with C-section circulation, hemorrhage/shock management, forceps/vacuum extraction assistance, and high-risk delivery support
  • Proficiency in EPIC charting, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
  • Ability to work independently across multiple areas: labor, postpartum, newborn care, OR circulation, and PACU recovery
