Description
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shift, 8 or 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, holiday coverage required. Block scheduling likely available to accommodate preferences. 3:1 patient ratio. 28 hours of orientation provided.

- Gain diverse experience across multiple critical care settings including Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, and Progressive/Intermediate Care units
- Floating required to various ICU and progressive care units based on facility needs
- Epic EMR system utilized across all units
- Academic learning environment supporting professional growth and Shared Governance participation
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and phlebotomy
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact state RN license
- Minimum 5 years of acute care ICU experience; must have at least 2 years of recent experience (within the last 3 years) in critical care specialty
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Travel nursing experience required; candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Must be competent in multiple ICU specialties including experience with adult and geriatric populations
- Strong arrhythmia interpretation skills; must pass facility telemetry examination prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
- Proficiency in high-acuity skills including ventilator management, CRRT/CVVHD, arterial line management, vasoactive drip titration, central line care, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:
Candidates will be required to pass a comprehensive telemetry examination with strict passing criteria prior to assignment clearance. The examination includes 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification and third-degree heart blocks, with an overall passing score of 80% or higher. Up to three attempts are permitted with additional continuing education requirements if needed. Parking permits are required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available including public transit and park-and-ride services.
