Description
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, every other weekend required (5-6 weekend shifts per contract), float requirement in effect (travelers float first), 13-20 week assignments accepted
Highlights:
- Neuro-focused Med/Surg Telemetry unit with general medicine patient population
- 24-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- 24-hour orientation provided with manager-based block scheduling
- First-time travelers welcome; 2 years of experience required
- Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off available (excluding holidays)
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts and maintenance, and peripheral line care
- Neurological experience strongly preferred; NIH stroke scale knowledge preferred
- Willingness to learn charge nurse role preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Teamwork approach and commitment to patient safety essential

- Pre-start compliance modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, non-billable)
