Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:6. Contract lengths available for 13-26 weeks.

Highlights:

• Specialized neuroscience unit caring primarily for stroke patients, plus epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• 42-bed unit with 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and advanced neuro capabilities
• Epic EMR, PYXIS, SBAR systems with 36 hours of paid orientation
• Floating required to other Med-Surg/Telemetry areas as needed
• Preferred scheduling with flexibility for pre-approved time off (up to 7 days, no holidays in first week)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, physical therapy, and more

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience (hard stop requirement)
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and Med/Surg neuro patient care
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel assignments (first-time travelers will not be accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). ACLS preferred
• North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
