Description
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:6. Contract lengths available for 13-26 weeks.
Highlights:
- Specialized neuroscience unit caring primarily for stroke patients, plus epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
- 42-bed unit with 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and advanced neuro capabilities
- Epic EMR, PYXIS, SBAR systems with 36 hours of paid orientation
- Floating required to other Med-Surg/Telemetry areas as needed
- Preferred scheduling with flexibility for pre-approved time off (up to 7 days, no holidays in first week)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, physical therapy, and more
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience (hard stop requirement)
- Experience with IV starts, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and Med/Surg neuro patient care
- Must have completed at least 2 successful travel assignments (first-time travelers will not be accepted)
- Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). ACLS preferred
- North Carolina or Compact State RN license
- Proficiency with Epic charting system required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
