Description
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; 1:5-6 patient ratios
Highlights:
- 13-26 week contract assignment serving orthopedic and neurological trauma patient populations
- Comprehensive clinical orientation including 12 hours unit-specific and 16 hours organizational education
- Epic EMR documentation system with Pyxis and SBAR communication tools
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
- May float to similar medical-surgical units and alternate care locations as needed
- Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the last 5 years
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Proficiency in heparin drips, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line care, IV starts, phlebotomy, and PCA management
- Experience with colostomy care, feeding tube management, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, wound care, and surgical drains
- Competence in dysrhythmia management, oxygen protocol management, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
- Comfortable managing 1:5-6 patient ratios
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
