You'll care for a diverse patient population requiring high-acuity interventions while working alongside a skilled nursing team committed to excellence in patient care. Pros
Patient ratios fluctuate in the NICU. Travelers first to float and first to be put on call. Staff definitely treats travelers as family but leadership doesn’t hence why we’re floated first. Everyone is wonderfully nice and welcoming! I never felt I was treated differently besides being a traveler lol
Cons
Asheville is decently priced but I wouldn’t take a low paying contract here. It’s beautiful. Again, travelers first to float and be on call. We’re still treated like outsiders. I didn’t get real acuity until I helped code a baby and their most skilled nurses came to me and asked where I got my ICU experience from. I felt appreciated. But it sadly took an unfortunate event for me to earn my place.
