Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Holding / MS Tele Float RN – North Carolina

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. 36 and 48-hour contracts accepted with potential extensions through February 2027. Every other weekend required. Up to 7 days of RTO maximum per contract. Holiday coverage required. Float as needed to ED and Med/Surg areas.

Highlights:

  • Fast-paced Emergency Department Inpatient Holding unit supporting patients awaiting inpatient bed placement
  • Mixed acuity adult medical/surgical and PCU-level patients with varied diagnoses
  • Patient ratios: MS/Tele 1:6-1:7, PCU level patients 1:3-1:4
  • Epic charting system with 12 hours of orientation provided
  • Float pool position requiring flexibility to support ED and Med/Surg units as needed
  • No call required; standard medical equipment including cardiac monitors and IV pumps

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • BLS and NIHSS certification required; CPI preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with MS/Tele and ER holding background
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage fast-paced environments and high patient ratios
  • EKG testing proficiency (testing required prior to start)
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
