Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day shift, 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts assigned according to unit staffing needs. 36-hour orientation provided.

• Float pool assignment serving step-down/PCU patient populations with diverse diagnoses
• 3:1 patient ratio maintained across all shifts
• Epic charting system utilized facility-wide

• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• May float to affiliated locations within walking distance (approximately 5-6 minutes)

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV starts and cardiac telemetry
• Skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, insulin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and tracheostomy care
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
