Job Opportunity – ICU Registered Nurse – North Dakota

Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day/Night Rotating - 8 and 12 hour shifts with occasional 4 hour shifts; every other weekend and every other holiday required; no call

Highlights:

  • Float pool position across multiple critical care units with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios in ICU settings
  • Manage diverse patient populations including critically ill neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients
  • Level 1 trauma facility experience required; large acute care setting with over 250 beds
  • Epic EMR system with comprehensive 32-hour orientation program during first week
  • Dynamic critical care environment with exposure to advanced procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement
  • May float to Intermediate ICU (up to 4:1 ratio) and medical-surgical units as needed

Requirements:

  • Active RN License (North Dakota or Compact State)
  • Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience in a facility with 250+ beds
  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
  • Demonstrated experience titrating vasopressor drips (must be documented on resume or skills checklist)
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS Certification (AHA only)
  • ACLS Certification (AHA only)
  • NIHSS Certification
  • Ability to care for critically ill patients independently
  • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility

Position Details:

This float pool role offers the opportunity to work across multiple critical care departments, managing 1-3 critically ill patients per shift. You will call in daily prior to your shift to receive your unit assignment. Responsibilities include managing vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips, as well as assisting with bedside procedures and diagnostic tests.

Equipment utilized includes Epic EMR, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG feeding pumps, IABP, EVD, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, AvaSure patient monitoring, and Impella devices.
