Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float Pool Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 36 hours per week. Weekdays and some weekends required, including holidays. Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.

Highlights:

• Float pool position serving MS/Telemetry units with flexibility to support equivalent or lower acuity areas
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• EPIC electronic health records system in use
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Two pre-approved time-off periods available during assignment
• Adult and geriatric patient populations with diverse diagnoses

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skills in blood product administration, central line management, heparin protocols, isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PCA, PICC line management, and wound care
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
