Job Opportunity – Critical Care Nurse (RN) – South Dakota

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Aberdeen, South Dakota

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), rotating days/nights, 3-4 shifts per week with 48-hour guarantee option available. Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and holiday rotation required. No call requirement.

Highlights:

• 8-bed private-room Critical Care Unit serving adolescent (16+) through geriatric medical/surgical patients
• Critical care patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2; medical/surgical overflow patients at 1:4 ratio
• EPIC One Chart EMR system with advanced technology including PLUM IV smart pumps, ventilators, IABP, and overhead patient lift systems
• Minimum staffing of 2 RNs when patients are present; clinicians never work alone
• Potential float to Medical/Surgical and Pediatrics units based on census needs
• Comprehensive 2-day facility orientation plus 1-2 days unit-specific training

Requirements:

• Active South Dakota RN license or multistate compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care Unit (CCU) experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN and/or TNCC certification preferred
• Prior Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, and Emergency Department experience is a plus
• Must badge in and out at facility; navy blue scrubs required
