Description
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day/Evening shifts with rotating start times between 6:30am - 10:30am. Primarily 8-hour shifts with some 10-hour shifts. May require flexibility to stay past scheduled shift to complete the day's surgical schedule. No weekend coverage required.

- Manage 2-3 patients in both Phase I PACU and Pre-Op settings
- Comprehensive case mix including general surgery, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, and trauma cases
- Monday-Friday schedule with two pre-approved time-off periods available
- No call or weekend requirements
Requirements:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in perioperative nursing
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- CCRN certification strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Must successfully complete telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Must reside 50+ miles from facility
- Floating to other units as needed
Essential Skills:
- Pre-operative assessment, education, and medication administration
- Phase I and Phase II recovery care
- Airway management and conscious sedation monitoring
- Central line, PICC line, and chest tube management
- Blood product administration and anticoagulation therapy
- Pain assessment with PCA pump management
- Emergency medication administration and reversal agents
- Proficiency with nerve blocks, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and procedural sedation
