Description
Start Date: November 30, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day shift, 36 hours per week
Highlights:
- 31-bed medical-surgical unit with average daily census of 25 patients, primarily serving medicine teaching services
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- 24-hour orientation period provided to support successful onboarding
- Float opportunities within the organization to expand clinical experience
- Adult patient population with diverse medical diagnoses including COPD, CKD, bacteremia, anemia/GIB, and general medicine cases
- First-time travelers welcome (profiles subject to manager review for candidates with only 1 year of experience)
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must demonstrate competency with CPAP/BiPAP management and cardiac medication titrations
- Must be charge-capable for night shift coverage
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
- Willingness to float to different units within the organization as needed
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
Essential Clinical Skills:
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Non-invasive airway management including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac systems)
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Feeding tube care, PCA pumps, and peripheral line management
- Wound care including wound vac therapy
- Heparin protocols and cardiac drip titration
- Proper utilization of Rapid Response and Code teams
Compliance Requirements:
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions
- Former employees eligible after 6 months separation from facility
- Current employees of this organization are ineligible for travel positions
