Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend required, float within system as needed

Highlights:

• Surgical step-down progressive care unit with patient ratios of 3-4:1, maintained at 3:1 whenever possible
• Epic EMR experience required; 24 hours of orientation provided
• Patient population includes post-surgical overflow (bariatric, colorectal), general medicine, and telemetry monitoring
• One year of RN experience acceptable; first-time travelers welcome (profiles subject to manager review)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• 12-month assignment with opportunity for time off (must be requested at submission)

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care/Step-down/Telemetry nursing experience
• Must pass telemetry competency testing and have experience monitoring telemetry patients
• Epic charting system experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Proficiency in skills including telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central/peripheral line care, IV insulin and heparin protocols, titration of insulin drips, PCA, wound care, and non-invasive airway management
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
