Description
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week assignment; shift requirements include 6 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays); may float to PICU or NICU as needed
Highlights:
- 19-bed combined pediatric and oncology unit (13 pediatric beds, 6 oncology beds) in a premier Magnet-designated facility
- Work at one of America's 50 Best Hospitals (Healthgrades, 2020-2023) with Leapfrog "A" Safety Grade recognition
- Patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:5, always staffed with at least one dedicated oncology nurse per shift
- Support from dedicated charge RN, respiratory therapists, and patient care technicians on each shift
- Cerner EMR system with Alaris pump technology
- Part of a regional referral center offering Level II trauma, comprehensive stroke services, Level III NICU, and the region's only children's hospital
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Hospital-based pediatric experience required
- Pediatric oncology experience required
- Current PALS and BLS certifications required
- APHON certification required for oncology patients
- Detail-oriented, organized professional demeanor
