Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care Unit) – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 0630-1900, weekend rotation, every other holiday. Standby call as needed. 48-hour contracts available for candidates willing to work additional weekends.

Highlights:

• Blended Med-Surg/PCU unit with 23 beds and daily census of 10 patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1 on days; care for all acuity levels including occasional ICU/PCU patients
• Cerner charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• 24 hours of orientation provided; free onsite parking
• Patient population includes medical-cardiac/respiratory, orthopedic (knees/hips), and general surgery
• Barcode scanning compliance of 95% required; bedside shift reporting and hourly rounding standards

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license (or ability to obtain)
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit settings within the last 3 years
• First-time travelers must have 5+ years of RN experience
• Previous travel experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to assignment start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall score, two attempts allowed)
• Experience with patient ratios of 3-6 patients
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown care, ventilator management, central line care, chest tubes, arterial line management, and vasoactive drip titration
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside 50+ miles from facility
• Willingness to float as needed
