Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required. Day Shift: 1:4 patient ratio (1:5 stretch staffing). Night Shift available. Floating to Medical-Surgical units, Stepdown units, and Emergency Department holding as needed.

Highlights:

• 40-bed progressive care cardiac unit specializing in heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, and post-cardiac procedures
• Patient population includes post-cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker/ICD/ablation, and DKA management
• Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, and heparin
• Utilize Cerner EMR and equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, and bladder scanners
• Collaborative unit with dedicated charge nurses, bedside nurses, PCTs, and unit secretaries on each shift
• Opportunity to perform bedside cardioversion and work with advanced cardiac therapies

Requirements:

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Stepdown or progressive care experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing titratable and cardiac IV medications
• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred
• Relief charge experience preferred
