Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
Essential Responsibilities:

Chemotherapy and Administration and Consultation: Administers PO, SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by physician: consults with other medical personnel and may provide expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, etc.:provides a variety of assistance to physicians.
Assumes responsibility for clinic specific assignments.
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.
Assists physician during conscious sedation patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products Delivers patient care competently.
Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the clinic, time of discharge, and continued care via phone triage.
Informs patient and family of clinic procedures.
Patient Education: Provides chemotherapy related educational information to patients, family, etc.: answers inquiries and provides guidance as appropriate.
Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Delegates tasks to support staff.
Patient Follow Up: Schedules patient follow-up activities related to their treatment and assists with coordination of care by obtaining referrals and completing phone calls with the patients after their clinic visits.
