Registered Nurse – Surgical Transplant (Stepdown/PCU)
Location - Oklahoma City, OK
Pay Rate: $55 – $60 per hourWork Shift: Days

General Description
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. This role is focused on surgical transplant care, including kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing evaluation during their inpatient stay.

Essential Responsibilities
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; record all changes in physician orders.
Assist physicians with patient examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene when necessary.
Administer prescribed medications; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
Deliver competent, evidence-based patient care.
Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
Educate patients and families on hospital procedures.
Make appropriate referrals regarding patient care needs.
Delegate tasks to support staff and oversee their performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Basic computer skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience
Stepdown/PCU experience.
Travel nursing experience.
Transplant nursing experience (preferred but not required).
