Orthopedic RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
Unit: J6 Orthopedics – 32 private rooms
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing (Orthopedic RN travel job)
Start Date: November 30, 2025
End Date: March 1, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,800
Hours per Week: 36
Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Dress Code: Navy scrubs for RNs

Orthopedic Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact state)
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent hospital RN experience (orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred)
Strong adaptability, teamwork, and clinical support skills
Excellent communication and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Orthopedic RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic patients in a fast-paced clinical setting
Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance/removal
Operate and maintain orthopedic equipment such as walkers, bladder scanners, lifts, and vital sign machines
Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
Float to other Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) units as needed
Promote a positive, collaborative, and safe healthcare environment for patients and staff
