Orthopedic RN Job Details – Asheville, NC
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Unit: J6 Orthopedics – 32 private rooms
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing (Orthopedic RN travel job)
- Start Date: November 30, 2025
- End Date: March 1, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,800
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs for RNs
Orthopedic Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact state)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital RN experience (orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred)
- Strong adaptability, teamwork, and clinical support skills
- Excellent communication and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Orthopedic RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic patients in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance/removal
- Operate and maintain orthopedic equipment such as walkers, bladder scanners, lifts, and vital sign machines
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Float to other Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) units as needed
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and safe healthcare environment for patients and staff
