Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license (North Carolina or eligible for compact license)
- Minimum 1 year recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU), telemetry, or similar acute care RN experience
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry, high-acuity patient care, and medication administration
- BLS certification (AHA or equivalent); ACLS preferred
- Ability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts
- Strong communication, critical thinking, patient education, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit and telemetry settings
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including cardiac telemetry and hemodynamic status
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (MDs, NPs, respiratory, PT/OT, case management) to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, discharge plans, and post-discharge care
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions; escalate care appropriately
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment for patients and staff
