• Schedule: 5 x 8-hour day shifts (08:30 – 17:00), 40 hours/week
• Facility: Academic/teaching hospital outpatient clinics (UCSF and affiliated sites)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100–$2210/week

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience, including pediatric diabetes education and diabetes medication management
• Prior travel nursing experience within the last 12 months preferred
• Experience with electronic charting / EHR systems
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability and willingness to float to other units and UCSF-affiliated facilities within a 75-mile radius
• Preferred: 1 year ambulatory care experience and prior teaching hospital experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient nursing care to pediatric patients in endocrinology and diabetes clinics
• Deliver diabetes education to pediatric patients and families, including insulin teaching and device education
• Administer medications, perform medication reconciliation, and manage pharmacy refill requests
• Perform patient assessments, interpret laboratory results, and triage clinical concerns
• Obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy/venipuncture, and set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays
• Assist with minor procedures and coordinate follow-up care for outpatient pediatric patients
• Conduct telephone triage, follow-up calls, and patient education outreach
• Recognize and respond to signs of abuse or neglect in accordance with facility policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, diabetes educators, pharmacists, social work) to ensure coordinated, high-quality pediatric care
