Cath Lab RN travel contract in Brownwood, TX — 13-week travel nursing role for experienced cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurses with ACLS/BLS. Join a dynamic interventional cardiology team providing care to adult and geriatric cardiac patients.
Job Details
- Location: Brownwood, TX 76801 (Brown County) — Texas nursing jobs / travel nurse opportunity
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (~6:00am – 4:30pm; end time may vary)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-Call: Required
- Weekend Coverage: Required (number of weekend shifts varies)
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Travel Experience: Strongly preferred — travel nursing / travel Cath Lab RN experience
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,500–$2,630/week
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional cardiology setting
- Texas RN License or Compact RN License (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Experience with MedHost and GE MacLab preferred
- Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred
- Must live more than 150 miles from facility or reside in a metropolitan area
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work autonomously in high-acuity cardiac cath lab environments
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the cardiac cath lab for adult and geriatric populations
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placements, and pacemaker/defibrillator (ICD) procedures
- Monitor procedural sedation, manage vascular access, and ensure infection prevention protocols
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, and respond to rapid response and code situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, and pharmacy
- Maintain accurate charting and documentation using MedHost, GE MacLab, and Allscripts/Altera systems
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide weekend coverage as needed
