Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Minimum 1 year of hospital respiratory therapist experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification preferred
- Ability to meet Virginia state licensure/certification requirements for travel clinicians
Core Responsibilities (Hospital Respiratory Therapist / RRT)
- Provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions for adult patients across acute care units
- Perform mechanical ventilation setup, ventilator management and weaning per protocol
- Assess and monitor patient respiratory status; perform ABG sampling and interpretation
- Manage airway care, oxygen therapy, nebulization, and aerosol treatments
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory care, treatments, and equipment settings
- Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of respiratory equipment
