Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Minimum 1 year of hospital respiratory therapist experience
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
• Current BLS certification preferred
• Ability to meet Virginia state licensure/certification requirements for travel clinicians

Core Responsibilities (Hospital Respiratory Therapist / RRT)

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and interventions for adult patients across acute care units
• Perform mechanical ventilation setup, ventilator management and weaning per protocol
• Assess and monitor patient respiratory status; perform ABG sampling and interpretation
• Manage airway care, oxygen therapy, nebulization, and aerosol treatments
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory care, treatments, and equipment settings
• Ensure proper operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance of respiratory equipment
