Travel RN Job Details — Walnut Creek, California
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,580 - $2,720
- Location: Walnut Creek, CA 94598 (Bay Area travel nurse opportunity)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 5, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (1p-1a, 3p-3a, 5p-5a, 7p-7a; must be able to work all listed shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Emergency Services (ED), 44 beds
- Trauma Level: II — Trauma RN experience highly valued
Required Qualifications — Emergency Department RN
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (ED RN or ER RN)
- Active California RN license
- EPIC charting experience required (must be documented in work history)
- BLS required; ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only) or ENPC, and NIHSS certifications required
- Superior references required
- At least 1-2 previous travel assignments strongly preferred (travel nurse experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- CEN and TNCC certifications preferred
- 3–5 years of ED/trauma experience, including pediatric and trauma care
- Experience with STEMI, stroke protocols, and high-acuity trauma cases
Emergency Room RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population including STEMI, stroke, trauma, and geriatric patients
- Triage, perform assessments, initiate interventions, and manage high-acuity cases in a busy Emergency Department (ED)
- Collaborate closely with physicians, ER techs, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document patient care in EPIC and manage medications using Pyxis
- Participate in bedside triage and care of ambulance and trauma patients
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to unit dress code
- Promote a positive patient experience and support nursing excellence on the trauma team
- Complete orientation: 2 ED shifts and 1 shift with educator
