• End Date: August 8, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,950 - $2,100
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour days (open to 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts)
• Call Requirement: 1 weekday call and 1 weekend shift twice per 6 weeks (OR closed on national holidays; call may be required)
• Unit: 4-6 suites, average 10-20 cases per day

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical First Assist or Surgical Assistant in an operating room setting
• Independent da Vinci robotic system experience required (robotic surgery, da Vinci experience)
• Ability to scrub and assist through end of day preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred (travel surgical jobs, travel healthcare)
• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Assistant
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Valid Virginia license required
• Certified First Assistant (CFA) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required prior to submission
• Strong experience across multiple specialties including robotics, spine, orthopedics, laparoscopic/minimally invasive, general, gynecology (GYN), urology, vascular, and ENT

Key Responsibilities

• Provide surgical first assist support: patient positioning, exposure, retraction, suturing, dressing application, and skin closure
• Set up the operating room and ensure necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are available prior to procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and assist with room turnover and restocking supplies between cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members; act as a resource for procedures and OR flow
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including operating microscopes and the da Vinci robotic system
• Support a diverse adult patient population and occasional pediatric ENT cases
• Maintain surgical assistant certification and pursue ongoing professional development in surgical technology and robotic-assisted surgery
