Job Details – Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Location: Asheville, NC (28801) — Asheville respiratory therapist job, North Carolina
- Facility: Hospital – Respiratory Services, Main RT Department
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,860
- Employment Type: Travel Respiratory Therapist, W2
Required Qualifications – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active North Carolina Respiratory License (or eligible for state licensure)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year recent experience as an RRT in a hospital/acute care setting (critical care experience preferred)
- NRP certification preferred for neonatal respiratory care
- Ability to float to all critical care units and med/surg floors as needed
Key Responsibilities – Hospital Respiratory Care
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across hospital units
- Provide ventilator management and mechanical ventilation support, including initiation, adjustment, and weaning
- Operate and manage advanced respiratory equipment: GE R860 adult vents, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 non-invasive devices, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Perform airway management, ventilator troubleshooting, and non-invasive ventilation therapies
- Document respiratory care, interventions, and ventilator changes in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals—to optimize pulmonary and critical care outcomes
- Participate in rotating weekend coverage (minimum 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Adhere to hospital policies, respiratory care protocols, and dress code (medium gray/pewter scrubs)
