Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,700
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour days (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM or 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Location: On-site at a hospital laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID (83404) — Idaho histology jobs / Idaho Falls histology technician
• Dress Code: Charcoal grey scrubs or business casual under a lab coat (lab coats provided)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital laboratory or clinical laboratory setting
• HTL certification from ASCP required (ASCP HTL; not HT)
• Proven experience with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) stains and troubleshooting IHC protocols
• Strong skills in embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and maintain a professional, positive demeanor in a fast-paced lab

Responsibilities

• Embed tissues and perform microtomy to produce high-quality sections for diagnosis
• Perform special stains and manage/troubleshoot staining instrumentation and programs
• Log incoming tissues, prepare slides for staining, and file slides and cassettes accurately
• Operate advanced laboratory equipment including Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers, Sakura tissue processors, Thermo Fisher embedding systems, and Leica microtomes
• Maintain documentation and follow quality control procedures in the hospital laboratory
• Uphold a professional and easy-going attitude while supporting a collaborative clinical lab team
