Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,700
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8-hour days (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM or 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Location: On-site at a hospital laboratory in Idaho Falls, ID (83404) — Idaho histology jobs / Idaho Falls histology technician
- Dress Code: Charcoal grey scrubs or business casual under a lab coat (lab coats provided)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital laboratory or clinical laboratory setting
- HTL certification from ASCP required (ASCP HTL; not HT)
- Proven experience with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) stains and troubleshooting IHC protocols
- Strong skills in embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and maintain a professional, positive demeanor in a fast-paced lab
Responsibilities
- Embed tissues and perform microtomy to produce high-quality sections for diagnosis
- Perform special stains and manage/troubleshoot staining instrumentation and programs
- Log incoming tissues, prepare slides for staining, and file slides and cassettes accurately
- Operate advanced laboratory equipment including Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers, Sakura tissue processors, Thermo Fisher embedding systems, and Leica microtomes
- Maintain documentation and follow quality control procedures in the hospital laboratory
- Uphold a professional and easy-going attitude while supporting a collaborative clinical lab team
