- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville nursing jobs / North Carolina travel nurse)
- Role: Trauma Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel Nursing assignment
- Setting: Adult Med Surg / Trauma Unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 3, 2026
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (estimated travel nurse pay)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of North Carolina requirements)
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of recent clinical experience in Med Surg or Trauma nursing
- Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
- Strong critical thinking, time management, and clinical assessment abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult trauma and med-surg patients, prioritizing patient safety and high-quality outcomes
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in patient status
- Administer IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics as ordered
- Assess patient conditions, escalate and report changes in acuity to the care team promptly
- Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, physicians, and other team members to coordinate patient care
- Float to other med-surg units or the ED holding pod as needed to support staffing and patient flow
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, attend shift huddles, and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR
- Demonstrate a team-oriented attitude, provide clinical support to colleagues, and contribute to a positive patient experience
