Job Details

• Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 (Des Moines nursing jobs, Iowa travel nursing)
• Role: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Setting: Resource Pool – float to Med/Surg units (Ortho, Neurology Step Down, Oncology, Surgical Telemetry, Med-Surg Tele)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/16/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,030
• Travel between campuses: Must be willing to float to West Lakes Campus (9.5 miles from downtown)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa license or compact RN eligible preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (clinical experience with telemetry monitoring preferred)
• Ability and flexibility to float to various med/surg units and campuses
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• Up-to-date immunizations and screenings (COVID-19, Influenza, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB screening)
• Willingness to complete onboarding requirements: background check, drug screen, competency testing, and facility orientation

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care as a Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse across multiple units
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring, assess cardiac rhythms, and respond to changes in patient status
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including vital signs, intake/output, and response to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Float between units and campuses to support staffing needs and maintain continuity of care
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
