Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Role: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse / L&D RN / Obstetric Nurse / Perinatal Nurse (Travel Nurse)
- Shifts: Night shift – 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00), every other weekend required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,570 – $2,710 (competitive pay for travel nursing Burlingame)
- Setting: LDRP Unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults (perinatal and neonatal care)
- Unit Size: 30 beds, daily census ~10
Requirements / Qualifications
- Active California RN License (required at time of submission)
- BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications (all current and in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D, obstetrics, or perinatal nursing)
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred (electronic medical record experience)
- Community hospital and Level I Trauma experience required
- 7-year work history verification required
- Must be available for lab work within 3–5 days of signing
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in the LDRP setting (maternity nurse duties)
- Support obstetricians, scrub techs, and charge nurses during deliveries, including high-risk deliveries and C-sections
- Perform patient assessments, continuous monitoring, and clear communication with patients and families
- Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs and emergency interventions as needed
- Assist with neonatal resuscitation and provide immediate newborn care in collaboration with NRP protocols
- Educate and support new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions (postpartum education)
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and adhere to safety, privacy, and regulatory standards
- Mentor and precept students and new staff as needed
