LICSW / LSWAIC – Pediatric Acute Care Social Worker in Seattle, WA (University District, 98105). 13-week contract; EPIC charting; start ASAP. Join a dynamic pediatric healthcare team and make a meaningful impact on children and families in a teaching, Magnet, Level I Trauma facility.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,882 - $2,092
- Location: Seattle, WA 98105 — University District (Seattle pediatric social worker job)
- Setting: Pediatric Acute Care (Teaching hospital, Magnet, Level I Trauma Facility)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks — travel social worker / contract social work opportunity
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Shift Schedule: Rotating days and nights
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Charting: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Any color or T-shirt top (must be age-appropriate and kid-friendly)
- Parking: Available (cost varies by shift and lot)
Shift Rotation Example:
Week 1: Tues 09:00-21:30, Thurs 17:00-05:30, Fri 17:00-05:30
Week 2: Mon 09:00-21:30, Sat 17:00-05:30, Sun 17:00-05:30
(Two overnight shifts and one day shift per week)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of acute care social work experience (pediatric experience preferred) — experience as a pediatric social worker or acute care social worker is highly valued
- WA LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) or LSWAIC (Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical License) required in hand at submission
- Ability to float within scope as needed
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, care coordination, and biopsychosocial assessment
- Experience working with Child Protective Services (CPS) and community resource identification
- Excellent documentation and communication skills — proficient in EPIC documentation
- First-time travelers accepted — travel social worker and contract social work candidates encouraged to apply
- No RTO (Requested Time Off) within the first 2 weeks of assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical social work services to pediatric patients and families in an acute care setting
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to pediatric populations
- Deliver crisis intervention, counseling, and caregiver education for complex pediatric cases
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care and facilitate discharge planning with medical teams, nursing, and community partners
- Participate in care conferences, family meetings, and collaborate with Child Protective Services and outside agencies as appropriate
- Document all interventions, assessments, and communications in EPIC in a timely and accurate manner
- Support patients with a variety of diagnoses, including hematology-oncology, GI, craniofacial, cystic fibrosis, transplant, diabetes, and more
