Job Details — Respiratory Therapist Travel Assignment
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Hospital Respiratory Therapist / Critical Care RT
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (Asheville, North Carolina healthcare job)
- Setting: Hospital — Adult, NICU, and Pediatric service lines (critical care, pulmonary care)
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RRT)
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- End Date: August 17, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,730 – $1,860
- Openings: 4 Registered Respiratory Therapist positions
Required Qualifications — Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active North Carolina Respiratory License (required for Asheville, NC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- NRP certification preferred (neonatal experience)
- Minimum 1 year recent hospital experience as an RRT; critical care and ventilator experience preferred
- Experience with adult, neonatal, and pediatric populations preferred
- Ability to float to all critical care units and medical floors as needed
Responsibilities — Hospital Respiratory Therapist Duties
- Provide respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across high-volume hospital units (critical care RT)
- Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator settings; perform ventilator rounds and weaning as ordered
- Operate advanced respiratory equipment including GE R860 adult vents, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 non-invasive device, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform respiratory therapy procedures and interventions per physician orders (airway management, suctioning, aerosol therapy, ABG collection)
- Document patient care and interventions accurately in Cerner EMR (Cerner experience preferred)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, NICU staff) to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to various critical care units as required and cover rotating weekend shifts (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Adhere to hospital policies and dress code (medium gray/pewter scrubs)
