Travel L&D RN opportunity in Santa Rosa, California — 13-week travel nursing assignment for an experienced Labor & Delivery & Postpartum Registered Nurse. Must have a California RN license and a minimum of 2 years recent L&D/postpartum experience. Join a supportive acute care team in Sonoma County and work with Epic charting.
Job Details — Travel Nursing Job
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,260 – $2,380 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital, 10-bed LDRP unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405 — Sonoma County nursing job
- Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00); 4x12-hour shifts available upon request
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratios: 1:3
- Charting: Epic (experience with Epic required)
- Orientation: 36 hours
Job Requirements — Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery and postpartum experience (hard-stop requirement)
- Active California RN license (in hand at time of submission) — required for California nursing jobs
- Travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Proven experience with Epic electronic medical records
- Strong precepting and team collaboration skills are a plus
- Willingness to float between like units and nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at time of submission
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
Key Responsibilities — Labor & Delivery Nurse Duties
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to laboring and postpartum patients in a 10-bed LDRP unit
- Triage obstetrical patients and circulate for C-sections as a Labor & Delivery RN
- Manage high-risk antepartum, labor, and delivery cases, including magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and anticoagulation management
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and placement/calibration of IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter)
- Maintain and care for central lines (CVC/PICC) and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Collaborate with obstetrics, neonatology, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal maternal and newborn outcomes
- Float to like units or affiliate hospitals as needed (flexible L&D nurse)
- Document all care accurately and timely in Epic electronic health records
