• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,380 – $1,480
• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) / Travel Respiratory Therapist
• Setting: Hospital – Capital Division (Adult ICU / Acute Care)
• Location: Henrico, VA (Richmond Area) – Zip: 23229 — Virginia respiratory therapy jobs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Rotating weekends required; on-call preferred (one 24-hour shift every 5–6 weeks)
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Active Virginia state respiratory license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital setting is strictly required. Candidates without ICU respiratory therapist experience will not be considered.
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
• Strong skills in mechanical ventilation, ventilator management, and weaning protocols
• Ability to obtain and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and operate blood gas machines
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care across hospital units including adult ICU and acute care — typical duties for hospital respiratory therapists
• Perform ventilator setup, management, troubleshooting, and protocol-driven weaning
• Administer and monitor therapies: nebulizers, BIPAP/CPAP, oxygen delivery systems, and advanced airway management
• Obtain, interpret, and document arterial blood gases (ABGs); operate blood gas analyzers
• Complete 20–25 treatments per round while maintaining patient safety and appropriate patient ratios
• Accurately document care in Meditech EMR and communicate respiratory status updates to the care team
• Participate in rotating weekends and scheduled on-call duties
