Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Evening travel contract in Grand Rapids, MI. 13-week assignment, $2,120–$2,230 weekly, Epic charting. Join our behavioral health team and help provide compassionate psychiatric care across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Psychiatric RN Job Details – Grand Rapids, Michigan

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 – $2,230
• Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49548 (Grand Rapids healthcare, Michigan nursing jobs)
• Setting: Psychiatric Unit / Behavioral Health
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (5/18/2026 – 8/17/2026)
• Shift: Evening, 8-hour shifts, 5 shifts per week (Travel RN Evening Shift)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Patient Population: Pediatrics, adults, and older adults (pediatric psychiatric nursing, adult psychiatric nursing, geriatric psychiatric nursing)
• Medical Charting: Epic (Epic experience preferred)
• RN Ratios: Average Day: 1:7, Average Night: 1:11 (additional assistive staff present)

Required Qualifications – Psychiatric Nurse / Behavioral Health RN

• Active RN license (state of assignment requirements apply)
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience; 2+ years preferred
• Experience caring for pediatric, adult, and geriatric psychiatric patients preferred
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records is a plus
• Ability to work evening shifts and adapt to a fast-paced behavioral health environment
• Strong assessment, medication administration, and crisis intervention skills

Key Responsibilities – Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to patients across all age groups
• Assess and monitor patient status, administer psychotropic and PRN medications safely, and document care in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and support staff
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and participate in de-escalation and behavioral interventions
• Participate in treatment planning, patient and family education, and discharge planning
