Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent CT and radiology experience in a hospital setting
- Current ARRT certification in CT and/or Radiography (ARRT certified) — required
- Current BLS (American Heart Association)
- Comfortable working independently and handling call/standby as required
- Experience with GE CT and X-ray equipment preferred
- Strong communication, patient care, and clinical documentation skills
- Prior travel healthcare or contract experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) exams following established protocols and radiation safety standards
- Verify patient identity, review medical records, and assess risk factors prior to imaging
- Obtain and update patient history through interviews and prepare patients for CT procedures
- Explain procedures, risks, benefits, and alternatives clearly to patients and family members
- Set up CT equipment and acquire high-quality images per physician orders and protocol
- Perform initial image review, make preliminary observations, and communicate urgent findings to radiologists
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate post-procedure instructions
- Participate in quality improvement activities and support education for students and new staff
- May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist (general radiography) as needed
