Job Details

• Setting: Correctional Facility (corrections nurse / correctional nursing)
• Assignment Type: Travel nurse, Part-Time Night Shift
• Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (8-hour nights)
• Schedule: Every other weekend availability required
• Start Date: May 4, 2026
• End Date: August 1, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 16 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (competitive pay for travel RN / corrections nurse)

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license required (Pennsylvania RN license preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; correctional or security healthcare experience preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to float to other units within the facility as needed
• Must comply with facility security policies (no smart watches or cell phones allowed inside secure perimeter)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals following established protocols and correctional healthcare standards
• Administer medications, treatments, and routine nursing procedures as ordered
• Monitor and assess patient health status; accurately document findings in medical records
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions in a secure setting
• Collaborate with providers, mental health staff, and security personnel to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Maintain safety and security standards for patients and staff while delivering clinical care
• Float to other units within the facility as operational needs require
