Travel Nurse Job Details — Emergency Department RN
- Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Registered Nurse
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 24, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Shift: 12-hour mids (1:00pm – 1:00am); typical Emergency Department RN schedule
- Hours per Week: 36
- Facility / Setting: Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department (Trauma RN experience preferred)
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 — travel nursing jobs in New Mexico / southeastern New Mexico
- Floating: Required (ability to float to other units)
- EMR: MedHost (EDIS) — experience with MedHost preferred
- Scrub Policy: Any scrub color (full uniform required; no t-shirts/hoodies; undershirts permitted)
Required Qualifications — ER RN & Trauma RN
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience required (ED/Trauma experience required for Level 3 Trauma Center)
- Active RN license (compact or state-specific RN license as required for New Mexico travel nurses)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC required; NRP preferred
- Ability to float across units as needed during assignment
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers (ensure agency registration with the State of New Mexico)
- Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ED setting
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and document interventions accurately
- Utilize the nursing process per state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and certification renewal
- Supervise and delegate patient care tasks according to staff skill level and hospital standards
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in floating assignments and adapt to varying patient populations across units
