Overview
We are seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN / ED Nurse) for a 13-week travel assignment in downtown San Francisco. This night shift travel nurse role serves a diverse urban patient population at a state-of-the-art facility. Ideal candidates have recent ED experience, travel nursing background, and California RN licensure.

- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- End Date: August 17, 2026
- Shift: Night shift — 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30), weekend rotation required
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,210 – $2,330 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Setting: Emergency Department (ED Hold position; may float to MS/Tele as needed) — Emergency Room, telemetry, and medical-surgical coverage
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license (required at time of submission)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience
- Travel nursing experience required — familiarity with travel nurse assignments and orientation timelines
- Ability to provide a 7-year work history verification
- Must be available for required lab work within 3–5 days of signing
Preferred Qualifications
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Epic electronic charting experience preferred (EPIC, Cerner, or similar EHR experience helpful)
- Experience with telemetry (MS/Tele), ventilator care, and high-acuity ED procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) and as needed on MS/Tele units
- Perform and document patient assessments, clinical procedures (IV insertion, Foley catheterization, wound care/dressings), and patient/family education
- Safely administer medications, manage IV/ventilator support, and utilize tele-monitoring systems
- Recognize and rapidly respond to changes in patient condition; act as a patient advocate in the ED
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and physicians
- Float to other units or additional CPMC locations as required; maintain flexibility for MS/Tele coverage
- Complete orientation and required e-learning modules; maintain professional appearance and adhere to facility safety standards
