We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel contract, providing care across inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, observation, and extended recovery settings. Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 – $1,820
• Location: Ste Genevieve, MO 63670 — PTA jobs in Missouri / travel physical therapy position
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Schedule: 40 hours per week (Day 4x8-Hour shifts, 07:00 – 19:00)
• Weekend Coverage: 1 Saturday/month (with a weekday off in exchange); coverage needed on 9/5, 10/10, and 11/14
• Setting: Inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, observation, extended recovery — diverse rehab caseload
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel physical therapy / PTA travel job)

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a PTA in a rehab setting (5 years preferred) — inpatient and outpatient experience a plus
• Current Missouri PTA license or PT Compact License (must be valid at time of submission)
• BLS and CPR certification through the American Heart Association
• References required
• First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply — new travel PT/ PTA candidates encouraged

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions for patients in swing bed, inpatient, observation, and extended recovery units (patient assessment, therapeutic exercise, mobility training)
• Collaborate with the Therapy Director and interdisciplinary team (PT, OT, nursing, physicians) to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Float as needed to support clinic operations (answer phones, assist with One Day Surgery bed turnover, transport patients) to ensure smooth outpatient and inpatient rehab workflows
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient records, and progress notes in accordance with facility policies
• Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives to support evidence-based practice in physical therapy
