Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 – $1,700
• Location: Pomona, CA 91767 (Los Angeles County, Southern California)
• Setting: Inpatient Acute Care Hospital – Rehab Services (acute care physical therapy)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/12/2026 – End: 8/11/2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 – 16:00), 40 hours/week
• Employment Type: Travel PTA / Travel healthcare job

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program
• Active California PTA license (required at time of submission)
• BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital-based, acute care, adult rehabilitation (acute care physical therapy or inpatient rehab)
• Experience with electronic charting systems / EMR (any system required)
• Comfortable working with critical care, med-surg, and trauma patients
• Adherence to facility dress code: scrubs with white lab coat; no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair color, or visible tattoos/piercings (except earrings within policy)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering acute care and inpatient rehabilitation services to adult patients
• Provide mobility training and safe transfers using gait belts, walkers, crutches, prosthetics, and other assistive devices
• Support patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries (hip/knee replacements, spinal procedures, shoulder repairs) and implement post-op rehab plans
• Deliver care for patients with neurological and cognitive disorders (stroke, Parkinson’s disease, MS, muscular dystrophy, traumatic brain injury) as part of interdisciplinary care
• Document patient progress, treatment interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Collaborate with PTs, nurses, physicians, and case managers to promote timely discharge planning and safe patient transitions
• Maintain patient safety, fall prevention strategies, and a supportive rehabilitation environment
