- Setting: Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center (chemotherapy infusion nurse role)
- Start Date: June 1, 2026
- End Date: August 31, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,010 – $2,120
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active DC RN license in hand at time of application (required for Washington, DC assignments)
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in oncology infusion or outpatient oncology (Infusion RN / Oncology RN)
- At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred (travel nurse experience)
- ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy & Biotherapy certification (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Experience with IV therapies, port/central line/PICC access, and phlebotomy
- Community hospital or outpatient infusion center experience required; BMT and inpatient oncology experience preferred
- Previous charge or leadership experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver safe, effective infusion therapies (chemotherapy, biotherapy, IV therapy) to oncology patients in an outpatient infusion center
- Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy per protocols and manage oncologic emergencies and infusion reactions
- Monitor, assess, and manage side effects, symptoms, and complications related to cancer treatment
- Access and care for ports, central lines, and PICC lines; perform phlebotomy as needed
- Implement neutropenic and isolation precautions and follow safe chemo handling procedures
- Provide patient education, symptom management guidance, and emotional support to patients and families
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology team (physicians, pharmacists, social work) to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
