- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
- Call Requirements: As needed
- Unit: 4 Labor rooms, 4 Postpartum rooms (LDRP)
- Patient Ratios: 2-1:1 LDRP; 3 couplets:1 Postpartum
- Electronic Health Records: OBIX, Medhost, GUI
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license with certification/licensure required to work as a Labor & Delivery nurse in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of recent LDRP/Postpartum experience (Labor & Delivery RN, Postpartum RN experience preferred)
- Required Certifications (current at time of submission): ACLS, AWHONN, BLS, HWC, NRP, PALS
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- All clinical staff must complete fingerprinting and background check per New Mexico state requirements
- Patient-focused, team-oriented, and eager to learn — strong communication and clinical assessment skills
- Compliance with facility dress code (no casual wear; scrub color not specified)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum women and their newborns as an LDRP/Postpartum nurse
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress in EHR systems (OBIX, Medhost, GUI)
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and follow evidence-based obstetric care practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (OB/GYNs, midwives, neonatology, support staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, and newborn care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and participate in orientation and ongoing training
- Float to other units as needed to support patient care and maintain safe staffing
